Highlighting a growing crisis within the islands
PROJECT DETAILS
Tags:
There’s a lack of comprehensive data on murdered and missing Native Hawaiian women and girls which has created an “invisible crisis,” leaving gaps in understanding and has hindered government and law enforcement agencies from addressing this critical and underrepresented issue.
This report was developed in support of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit (MMIWG2S) movement across Canada and Turtle Island.

challenge
How might we create a centralized and accessible resource that highlights critical data on Missing and Murdered Native Hawaiian Women and Girls, bridging gaps in information to support awareness, advocacy, and action?
Solution
A 24-page report presenting key insights gathered from data collection and analysis by the Missing and Murdered Native Hawaiian Women and Girls (MMNHWG) Task Force.
The Broad Picture
Addressing Community Needs
This project goes beyond simply sharing information; it’s designed to engage key stakeholders, amplifying awareness and driving meaningful action. Grounded in thorough research and valuable insights from the community, this report focuses on addressing these three key areas of need.
Getting government officials to support and recognize this movement.
Raising pubic awareness and on underlying issue affecting all islands.
Creating opportunities for community-wide support for victims.
Results
Final Report Outcomes
