My foundation

I'm curious by nature, always intentional in design. I got my start designing across crisis communication at the Hawaii State Capitol, cultural preservation efforts at the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, and currently constituent services at the Honolulu City Council. Government work taught me that plurality isn't something you design around, it's something you build on and design from.

Why product design?

What drew me to product design was the chance to work on systems built to evolve. In government, I learned to design under socioeconomic constraints and to move quickly under shifting priorities. But I wanted to apply that same rigor to building products that could grow with people over time. Product design lets me blend that strategic thinking with visual craft while designing for long-term momentum.

What inspires me

If I'm not in designing, I'm trying every açaí bowl spot I can find or traveling to new places to see how people move through them. Every city has a night life, a farmers market, a unique landmark, but the way people experience these things is uniquely theirs. Same with açaí bowls: same base, but the toppings completely change the experience. That's also what I love about design! Every project starts with a problem, but it's the process and how you get there that makes it meaningful.
